MEET YOUR Coach

Hey, I’m Jennifer.

I Coach Powerlifting, performance nutrition and education for people ready to train like athletes (and feel like they belong doing it).

WhY I Built Form + Function

If you’ve ever walked into a gym and felt unsure if you belonged there – I’ve got you. I created Form+Function to be the kind of coaching experience I wish existed when I started: inclusive, intelligent, and grounded in real strength.

This isn’t a “no pain, no gain” space, and it’s not about hype, shame, or aesthetic goals.

It’s about training with purpose, learning to move well, and building strength that supports every part of your life.

Who I work with

Most of my clients are curious, committed, and looking for something better than a one-size-fits-all plan.

They’re:

● Over 40 and ready to lift for real, maybe for the first time

● Queer or trans lifters tired of feeling invisible in performance spaces

● Coaches seeking mentorship and support to grow their own impact

● People who want structure, education, and coaching that respects their goals

● Remote clients who want the accountability and clarity of serious training, even from a distance

You don’t have to be ready for the platform when you start. But if that’s your goal, I’ll help you get there.

How I Coach

I’m a USPA-certified powerlifting coach and performance nutrition specialist with over a decade of experience in movement and coaching.

My core service is semi-private training: a small, supportive setting where lifters get individualized coaching in a shared space. I also work remotely with athletes all over the country and offer mentorship for coaches who want to level up their programming, cueing, or presence.

We train for real outcomes, not just to feel sore. My coaching is rooted in form, function, and consistency. I’ll meet you where you are, challenge you to step up, and support you through the work.

"I’ve been working with Jen for 7 months and she has made such an impact on my life. When I started, I was quite nervous about hurting myself. Jen listened, heard me and then taught me exceptional form. I have gone from deadlifting 85lbs to 210lbs in seven months! I feel so strong and I look forward to my training sessions with Jen. Her impact has permeated beyond the gym. My health numbers have improved significantly. And I feel more confident, more steady on my feet and more grounded. I cannot recommend Jen enough." - Leslie

"I can't recommend Jen enough. She has completely transformed my strength and my confidence in ways I didn't think were possible. She pushes me hard (sometimes harder than I want to be pushed) which is exactly what I need. Yes, the workouts are intense, and yes, I've cried during session out of pure exhaustion (my fault- not hers). But my numbers have gone up, my form has improved, my instagram feed is all about form and strength, AND I've never felt stronger. -Tali

"Jen provides a safe space for everyone, regardless of their fitness level, body size, or gender. As a trans and queer person, I’m no stranger to feeling a lack of confidence in my body. Over the past few years, I struggled to find a trainer who doesn’t measure progress by a number on a scale. Jen encourages lifting for longevity. Her training approach is a breath of fresh air. She acknowledges the importance of recovery while still challenging me to push myself physically. This year, I participated in my first lifting meet, something I never thought I’d have the courage to do. " -Dani

My Story

I started in group fitness, chasing balance and trying to feel good in my body.

When I found the barbell, everything changed. Powerlifting taught me how to push hard, recover harder, and build confidence that wasn’t tied to what I looked like.

That’s what I want for you, too. Strength that feels like something you own. Not something you earn to prove yourself to anyone else.

AnD When You’re Ready

We’ll build a program that fits your body, your mindset, and your life. You’ll be seen, supported, and challenged (in the way good coaching should be).

And when you’re ready to step onto your platform – whether that’s a meet, a mindset shift, or just lifting with more intention – I’ll be in your corner.
